Data uploaded.Hello all, again!
Umm, just a general update on my contact information!
You can IM me at the following addresses:1.) ovni-the-ufo[at]hotmail.com for MSN
2.) redward652[at]yahoo.com
I don't have any others, but if you ask nicely I might sign up for one of the other free ones, if you aren't comfortable with MSN or YIM.
Email addresses:1.) ovni-the-ufo[at]hotmail.com
I used to use my yahoo address for email, but recently it has come under spam attack so I'm considering abandoning it.
Usual MSN Issues:A bunch of people have asked why sometimes my MSN messes up. Rather than have to say the same thing nine or ten times a day, I figure I should put up a centralized response everyone can read.
Here is the explanation for several issues:
Issue 1.) Why do you sometimes sign in and out rapidly over a several minute period, and why does this never happen on the weekends?Answer: I attend a university during the day. It's my fourth year of college. During my freetime, I get on my laptop and sign onto MSN using the university's wireless internet.
Unfortunately, it being a university and all, it isn't an optimized wireless system and during peak hours (midday in the Central US time zone), everyone is using it. Therefore, I have to compete for connectivity, and often times my connection isn't stable enough to support MSN. It will support YIM, strangely enough, but not MSN. So it looks like this:
Ovni-the-UFO has just signed in.
Ovni-the-UFO is offline.
Ovni-the-UFO has just signed in.
Ovni-the-UFO is offline.
Ovni-the-UFO has just signed in.
Et cetera.
And it will do this for up to ten or fifteen minutes before establishing a stable connection sometimes. And it only does this at the university. It never does it at home. I'm not the only person who has experienced this at the university, and have approximately ten thousand people at the university who can all agree that the wireless signal, especially during the midday, is notoriously unstable.
Issue 2.) Why do you appear offline?Answer: I never set my MSN to invisible. If I appear offline and yet I am talking, it is because MSN has apparently glitched. It affects multiple people, and sometimes it seems to be a 'spreading' effect, where first it happens to one person, then it happens to multiple people, spreading like a virus until it passes. Other usual glitches that occur with this: Sometimes messages will not send, or pictures will not send.
Issue 3.) Why did you try to send me a file and cancel?Answer: If I am trying to send a file, I do not cancel unless I made a goof or noticed a mistake in the file and must correct it. I always inform you if that is the case.
If it cancels and I did not say something like "Oops, I need to fix something first", then it is MSN canceling the file. This can happen due to bad connections to the server, bad server data, or the file simply disappearing into the maze of data we call the Internet.
Issue 4.) Why did you nudge me?Answer: Either I was trying to get your attention or I hit the wrong button. I will usually apologize if I did not intend to nudge you.
Ummm...any other questions? :3
